Hello! My name is Abiodun ‘Abbey’ Abdul and I am an English Language Teacher. I am a Yorùbá-Nigerian woman who was born and grew up in the United Kingdom. In 1997, I was awarded one of 10 ‘Encounter Japan’ scholarships offered by the Japanese Embassy and spent a year as an exchange student at Karyo High School in Yamaguchi Prefecture. After this, I went back to the UK to study International Relations at university. Then I returned to Japan again from 2003-05 as an Assistant Language Teacher. The second time around, I was based up north in Fukushima Prefecture and this was when I developed the WCAYS project for International Day projects at Inawashiro High School and Asaka Kaisei High School

こんにちは!! 私の名前は アビョドゥン・アベイ・アブドゥルです。私は英語教師である。私は、イギリスで生まれ育ったナイジェリア女性である。1997年、日本大使館が募集した「日本と出会う」奨学生十人のうちの一人に選ばれ、山口県の華稜高校で交換留学生として一年を過ごした。その後、大学で国際関係学を学ぶためにイギリスに帰国した。そして、外国語指導助手（ALT）として再び日本に戻り、2003年から2005年まで滞在した。二度目の来日では、日本の北の福島県に赴任した。そして、この時、私は、猪苗代高校とあさか開成高校合同の国際デー・プロジェクトのためにWCAYS を開発したのである
